Location

The Open Security Conference 2024 will take place at the SeminarZentrum Rückersbach. The Seminarzentrum is a conference hotel between Frankfurt am Main and Aschaffenburg in Germany. Located on a woody mountain ridge it offers a space for a focussed get together far from traffic and daily hustle. There are around 70 rooms available including a number of accessible rooms.

The venue is about 50 km from Frankfurt am Main, which is reachable by airplane, train or by car.

The conference ticket includes the accommodation, meals and a selection of non-alcoholic beverages. The buffet includes vegetarian and vegan options and they address special requests. For better planning we will query individual requests on registration and will check them with the hotel.

Arriving by Plane

Next airport: Frankfurt Airport (FRA).

When arriving at Frankfurt Airport you can continue via train to Aschaffenburg Hbf. The quickest connection is the ICE or IC leaving hourly (around EUR 22). This will take you to Aschaffenburg in 50 minutes without changing trains. Timetable and tickets can be found at https://int.bahn.de/en There is also a local train which takes 15 minutes longer.

You will need to take a taxi from the train station Aschaffenburg (see “Arriving by Train”).

A taxi from the airport to Rückersbach will cost you around EUR 85 and will take around 45 minutes. If you’re not alone, that might be sensible too. The taxi driver might not know the place so make sure you have the address available.

Arriving by Train

Next train station: Aschaffenburg Hbf

Traveling by train you will arrive at the train station Aschaffenburg Hbf. Aschaffenburg can be reached directly via ICE trains from different cities - including from Frankfurt, Frankfurt Airport, Hamburg, Munich, and Viena.

When arriving by train, traveling through Frankfurt Main Hbf might be an option too. Especially if you share a ride from there (either Taxi (EUR 90) or car).

You will need to take a taxi from the Aschaffenburg main station to the venue (~10 km)- You might want to share a taxi.

Arriving by Car

Maybe you can give someone a lift or travel together.

Arriving by Bike

Traveling by bike is possible as well. Please note that the venue is more or less on the top of a hill. So there is roughly 400m elevation at the end.
